I tried quite a few different recipes from this cookbook, and I barely enjoyed any of them. The summer squash tian and summer pesto pasta are good, but 2 recipes worth keeping out of 10 doesn't make this cookbook a 5-star for me. Maybe there are some hidden gems in this cookbook I just didn't try, but I was hoping for a cookbook with healthy, wonderful flavors that my entire family could enjoy. I didn't notice a big difference in some recipes other than 'low-fat' this or 'fat-free' that, and a lesser amount of ingredients that would separate it from recipes that might be considered not that healthy.

I decided to try this cookbook after viewing Joy's segment on the Today show. I have to admit I was tired of cooking healthy boring meals for me, and then cooking something else for the family as they were sick of my "healthy meals". I was definately stuck in a rut, and to be honest I figured there were only so many ways to cook healthy, and I'm not that adventurous when it comes to cooking.I have only had this book for a week and I can't wait to try all the recipes. The 3 I have cooked so far (Beef and Bell Pepper, Turkey Meatballs and AJ's Mac n Cheesy) have been a huge hit, not only with me, but my family. They have been pouring over the pages and fighting over what they want me to make next. Finally, meals I can cook that are not only healthy but tasty enough that everyone in my family will eat them. No more cooking something for me and then something else for them. This is HUGE!! Joy, thanks for making it enjoyable, easy and most importantly healthy.

I bought this for my kindle and I'm pleased with it. I've used a couple of recipes off of it and some of the recipes are really good like the "Turkey Meatballs with Easy Marinara Sauce". This recipe is like something that tastes like from a real Italian restaurant. Just buy any marinara sauce and her incredients for the meatballs will flavor the sauce to a delicatessen flavor. I just wish the nutritional information was a bit more accurate.

I have not really used the book, but I have looked through it many times for meal ideas and it is a very easy book to follow. Since I have not tried it for a meal, I give it a four, I would need to cook from it to give it a five, however I am sure I will be pleased with a meal I make from the book.

I too viewed the Today Show segment with Joy introducing her new cookbook.Since making my purchase I've cooked:**The Chicken Fettuccine Alfradeo with Sun-dried Tomatoes (pg 88)**The Italian Chicken and Sausage Stew (pg 68). Yummmm! Both are easy to assemble and taste delicious. I had tons leftover (there are just two of us) and both recipes freeze just fine.**The Creamed Spinached recipe (pg 185) is the only way I can get spinach into my husbands diet. It's now a side dish at least a once a week.**I was intrigued by the Crispy Kale recipe (pg 177). I admit I used foil on the cookie-sheet, (A NO-NO) this resulted in the kale starting to BURN at 8 minutes. I was amazed with the lite-airy texture of the kale. Each piece melted in my mouth. I do think kale is an acquired taste. I'll try the recipe again without the foil."Slim and Scrumptious" will be my primary "girlfriend" Christmas gift this season. Many thanks Joy, for creating this wonderful, healthy, easy cookbook.

I bought this book expecting easy recipes but was dismayed to find many require more effort than I wanted to make. I love Joy's basic diet tho, it worked for me while I followed the precepts.

I have read both Ford Stevens books and found them both fresh and exciting. As a USAF disabled veteran I fully believe that China should be the USA’s biggest concern. They have for years stolen intellectual property that does not belong to them. That’s the biggest thing to me that makes this story plausible. LOVED IT. Eagerly waiting for number 3.

This book keeps you guessing till the very end, then the author brings back a person from the first book. The details are over the top. If you liked book one you must read book two!

Cheese Colby has done another great job with Book 2 of his Ford Stevens series. Once you start reading - The Black Scopion is hard to put down! Colby uses his military background to include current political/military struggles and cutting edge technologies to make his writings current! Looking forward to Book 3 of the series to see where Colby takes us.!

Not to be negative the book is a good read but the first book was better in my opinion. First book had more action and less drama. However, the two together will probably make a good movie!

I thought the author was more interested in showing how much technical information he knew than telling an exciting story. They epilogue left the reader wondering what happened.

You will finish this book faster than the Black Scorpion can fly. Cheese focuses on the importance of the Air Force reserve and how the air reserve components come together in a total force effort. Nice plug for Western New York and the greatest Buffalo Bill, Jim Kelly. Looking forward to book 3.

Part 2 of the series was awesome! I love how the author educates us readers about the military while also keeping us entrenched in the story. There were a couple twists in the book that I did not see coming. I can not wait for the next chapter in Ford's life to come out!

I am the Grandmother of 2 beautiful little girls--2 and 4 years old. Last Summer I created a Fairy Garden and the my oldest Granddaughter loved it! At the end of the season I packed up all the little Fairy things and put them away for the Winter. This year I put everything out for Memorial Day weekend and added another Fairy House-I had this book delivered the week leading up to Memorial Day. My Granddaughter brought chocolate chips and a gold grocery store token and placed them at the Fairy Homes. She read in this book that Fairies like Chocolate and Shiny objects--she loved this book-it was perfect. If you are a Grandparent, make a Fairy House and buy this book-and you'll be making memories for a lifetime.

This is a beautiful book for any little fairy lover. My granddaughter has a wonderful imagination and this book takes her to all the secret places she dreams of. Beautifully illustrated and, except for a few new vocabulary words for my 6 year old first grader, she reads it to me. It might be too advanced for a child younger than first grade.

Over the years, we have developed a wonderful children's library in our home that our children have always adored. I have to say, that now that I have found Patricia Saxton's books, I am beyond thrilled! A Book of Fairies is simply gorgeous! Artistically, a true gem that carries us into a magical and most splendid world of marvelous creatures that we love and adore! Saxton is a wonderful writer and remarkable artist. My now grown children love this fairy book, and in two months I am giving it as a gift to my soon to be grand-daughter - I am beyond thrilled to help my son and daughter-in-law begin their beautiful world of books for their children - with the very first book being A Book of Fairies. Positively splendid!

My eight year old granddaughter loved this book, and worked it well with our decorating a fairy house to put in her little flower garden. The illustrations are lovely and I enjoyed the book as well.

You certainly will be proud to have "Book of Fairies" in your book collection...along with Patricia Saxton's "Book of Mermaids", if you don't already. (The back cover mentions that the author is woking on a third book! I can't wait to find out what other mystical being she will introduce us to! )

I purchased 3 Fairy books at the same time to help my granddaughters progress and fantasize about future houses. From the moment the books arrived my granddaughters (4 & 6) emptied the box inside and took it outside to start collecting "nature" for their own Fairy Houses. The imagination, the outdoor experiences, the respect for nature, no plastic, no electronics, etc etc etc. One my our visit to see them we spent lots and lots of time building and playing...Grammy/Grandpa stood back and just watched and let them explain their "houses". Occasionally we would be invited to go "foraging" for new materials-rocks,leaves, fallen branches etc. We also learned we did not "Pick" anything that was still growing. I've told all my friends about these books and have emphasized they are just as appropriate for boys as for girls...imagination has has no gender...illustrations breathtaking. These books will grow with them forever.

Lovely illustrations, with many interesting “facts” about fairies and other unseen friends. My three-year old grandchildren enjoy it, but it is mainly a book for older children to adults. I highly recommend it.

I know the author/illustrator from high school. I love this book the best out of the 3 "The Book of"... The illustrations are incredible and so is the story.

This is the 3rd edition to the already classic atlas of Thomas Pope's collection of Aunt Minnie's.The book is organized into chapters by subspecialty: Interventional, Brain, Head and Neck, Spine, Thoracic, GI, GU, Pediatrics, Ultrasound, Cardiac, Nuclear Medicine, Breast Imaging and Musculoskeletal System. Each subject is presented by selected images, followed by a short history. You can 'take the case' by just looking at images and/or history as a method of doing 'unknowns' to prepare for end of rotation oral exams or practicing for the oral boards. Many subjects have even appeared on the annual inservice exams.Following each unknown is a summary of the imaging findings, the diagnosis, discussion and Aunt Minnie's "Pearls". The book is well written and it has high quality images.What separates this book from previous editions is the online access to the entire book in electronic format (text and images).[...]This is an essential book for preparation for the boards, as well as general knowledge of the practicing radiologist. No other book summarizes many of the pathognomonic imaging findings like this text.Highly recommend this book.

13 chapters--one for each subspecialty area in Radiology, and Neuro is divided into Neuro/Spine/Head & Neck.Each chapter has 30 or so high yield cases with classic pictures and good explanations, not too long or short.I think it is a good book for Radiology residents of all years.

I would recommend this book for anyone that is slight curious about radiology. The cases are presented in a clean, objective fashion, with a short explanatory text following each one. This book is made for residents in the beginning of their training or when they are already studying for the board tests. The only downside that I can think of is the fact that there's no secure way to prevent seeing the answer (diagnosis) when reading a new case. If there was a separated answers sections it would make the book more challenging, specially when studying in groups.(Sorry if there were too many typos, I'm not used to write in English and my PC only corrects texts in Portuguese).

The Aunt Minnie Atlas is a must read during residency, especially prior to boards. Each section covers entities with findings that are virtually pathognomonic. Image quality is excellent and the discussion sections are concise but comprehensive. You can easily get through the whole book in a few days or read each section prior to a rotation on that service. It is money well spent.
