As I have just started my course, I haven't yet had chance to really pursue this edition to make a fair judgment call on the overall quality or coverage of the course topic. HOWEVER, I do issue a caveat. If you are purchasing or renting (in my case) the Ebook version; beware it DOES NOT provide a Digital Product Key so you can use the book in Hybrid courses utilizing online resources (i.e. InQuizitive) There is no mention of this in product details - otherwise I would have gone for a new print or ebook from the publisher directly and gotten the key with the book. So if you are planning to use the ebook version and will require access to online resources, for an online or hybrid course you may want to look elsewhere.

Ordered this book for rental, arrived in decent condition. Sat down to take a test and realized pages are missing from the very first unit. Very crucial pages of art work that I was quizzed upon and needed to have been able to see.Extremely unhappy at this moment. I will not be ordering rented books again, for they cannot guarantee I’m getting what I paid for.I will say, this is a fine author and well organized textbook. This is in no way reflective of the authors.

This book is used as a text book for a course for a course I am taking at George Mason University, Introduction to the Visual Arts. As a text book, it does a good job of helping me review what the professor has presented in class. It has wonderful photographs of important works of art, and it has good descriptions of how each piece of art was created. As I write this review, we are only half way through the course and the book, but I have found one error. This concerns printmaking and the way drypoint is created, hardly a major catastrophe, but it does make me wonder if there are other minor errors about technical process.I am enjoying the book, which is well written and well illustrated. If you want to learn how to look at art, how to tell if a piece is good or not, how to appreciate the process of creating art, this book does a very good job.Like many text books today, the price of this book is outrageous. Because it has just been published, I was unable to buy it used, but I advise anyone who can to do that.

I was required to have this book for an understanding visual arts course. Understanding that because this book deals with art explains why this book is so expensive, yet comprehensive. It's comprehensive because as well as defining art vocabulary it gives more of a background to art history and the different forms of art in various cultures worldwide. This textbook definitely hurt my bank account, but after this class is over I'm sending it right back to Amazon for store credit. They make is easy to understand art through examples and such. I am glad that I was assigned to such a comprehensive textbook but now I have to memorize all the artists and titles of art for my exam. This book is great for college students, both students who are interested in art and those who are required to take a course to understand the arts.

This was a required textbook for my art class. It is easy to read and really explains the different concepts of art. I Mary half way thru bit and have actually learned a lot. My daughter enjoys looking thru it and seeing what mommy is learning as well.... I will be keeping this one and not selling it back at the end of the semester.

I usually don't like books dedicated to art, but I must say this is an exception. I had to take an art history class in college and we used this book. I really liked how clear and vivid the pieces of art were. I was able to easily perform the homework assignments using the images in the book. Further, there was several facts about the art and artists that I never would've guessed. Thanks to this book, I really enjoyed the class.

I got this book like new, and it's great for my class. It covers not only different art types from all over the world but walks through the how and why art is used. I don't care much about art, but this book covers in detail such a wide variety of art's applications, for example industrial, in aesthetics, spiritual, prehistoric, historic, communication, graphic design, and multiple medias, and more it makes you look at things differently.

Learned a lot about art. Required textbook for art appreciation. Goes into details about styles, materials, and history. I really enjoyed learning more in depth about featured pieces of work and their artists.

Because of the type of work I do, I often meet people who have disabilities and may no longer be able to do their job, or may be loosing their job. This is one of a few books that can actually help then go through the maze of SSD, so I show them the book and suggest they read it cover to cover (along with the Disability Workbook). Folks need to be prepared for all the paperwork involved and need to be aware of what is going to be a very long and usually uphill battle.Luckily, Nolo writes some excellent books in many areas (I also give out their Divorce book...trust me, a semi educated client is easier to work with then one who knows nothing about the predicament they are in!The book contains a lot of information, and is also a workbook to help them apply for Social security (SSA). Many of my the clients that come to see me are extremely depressed and completely disorganized due to stress caused from their illness, and the fear of having just lost their job or are going to. There is always downward spiral because of the financial insecurity that is (or soon will be) happening, not to mention on top of that, the often physical and emotional pain they might be in. Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating SSI, but there are some people who truly have fallen into a situation, where their health has so deteriorated, this might be their best option...that is up to them and their doctor.This book is very good and any attorney would be pleased their client had many forms filled out, and had put critical thought into their situation before they come to an attorneys office. It will save them a lot of headaches and heartaches by getting their thoughts organized, so, someone else can review their history in a logical manner. This task will help them get the basic information they need and help them find all the documents they need.Any attorney these people have to see (or then SSA office) will be relieved to see the organized set of records this book (and another) will provide. This will allow for another to review the clear documents, while they guide you through a very arduous process.If you need to go down this road, be prepared. Educate yourself![...]. Thanks. :)

I purchased this days before a report was due to accompany a SS evaluation (6/1/16) for my reconsideration so that I would know best how to communicate with my doctor(s). I know for a FACE that without this, I would not have been granted my SSDI (7/22/16). I HIGHLY recommend it!

I need to file for disability because I have fibromyalgia, and this is a great guide for anyone not familiar with the process. I used a highlighter, because there's so much useful information in every chapter. I highly recommend this book.

Very helpful but also confusing probably because because of the user didn’t quite understand all of it. Wish it came with a robot from like any Star Trek show would be so helpful LOL! I am not very techie, trouble moving even just typing this thank goodness for speak and type, and brain frog to often these days

The Author is obviously very knowledgeable and I commend him for creating a book aimed at helping people untangle the incredibly complex maze of Social Security.That said, it was just not written for the average person - this thing reads like a law book.The information is overwhelming and I could never find any sort of strategy to aid me in organizing the information we needed to submit to SS.The DVD is a PDF file of public information and reads likes a PDR and completely unneeded fluff.I was looking for a concise set of instructions on what we needed to submit in order to help a relative get her much-needed assistance.Instead I read...and read...and read. Lots of information, but it was like reading a manual on the thermodynamics of the internal combustion engine when what I needed was an owner's manual for a new car. So unless you are an attorney looking to pad his bookshelf, you will probably not like this book.If you can only buy one book, buy this one: "How to Get SSI & Social Security Disability: An Insider's Step by Step Guide" by Mike Davis.It was concise and told me exactly what I needed to help (Yes she got approved).The other one you really need to look at because of all the amazingly useful worksheets is "Disability Workbook for Social Security Applicants"Again, concise step-by-step information to get you from point A to point B.Kudos for the effort, but not useful for the average Joe or Jane.

The book is a wonderful resource. I also viewed YouTube videos on the same subject to supplement my understanding of the laws. I applied for Social Security Disability and got my approval 100 days later, thanks to following all the rules. I would not recommend applying for social security without knowing the rules, because some rules seem really strange and unfair.

It definitely meet my expectations. He tells you all the reasons as of why benefits get denied and also gives you great examples of how to both word your symptoms and fill out the forms. The book includes a cd with all the laws used to deny or approve benefits in accordance with your disabilities.

Dr. Fawcett nails it! I've always been "good" with money, but Dr. Fawcett teaches the average doctor/ healthcare practitioner how to be great in terms they can routinely understand. Getting a spending plan, staying out of debt and moreover, making compound interest work in your favor will definitely help you to get ahead of the game for the years to come. Learning to recognize biased advice was a great tip at least for me from someone who shares the profession and understands physician-specific financial aspects we deal with. Highly recommended! I have read numerous books on debt management, financial management, physician debt management, etc, and this is the best one I have found. Dr. Fawcett makes a powerful case for getting out of debt as quickly as possible after residency, including paying off the mortgage early. The book is very motivating in a lasting way—I read this 9 months ago but still have the same fire and passion to be debt free that it reignited. Thank you, Dr. Fawcett!

I am a physician and maximize my tax deferred accounts but after I paid off my student loans I couldn't make up my mind what to do with the rest of my surplus of after-tax money . Conventional wisdom teaches us NOT to pay off our mortgage and instead invest it in other instruments to get a better return. So I was hesitant to get rid of this debt. I then purchased Dr. Fawcett's book and it was worth 100 times what I paid for it. Because it opened my eyes to the reality that becoming debt free beats any return in the markets.Reading Dr. Fawcett's book helped me clarify my number one financial priority - to have no debt by age 40. If I can manage to do this I will have so many options. I can quit my contacted position. Work locums. Work only day shifts. Spend more time with my child. Develop myself outside of medicine, even change careers. Take better care of my health. Great read! Much of it is information that I already knew, but needed the reminder. There are a lot of useful gems in this book! I read it in my fourth year of medical school and plan to apply what I learned as I have just started residency.

I'm a dentist and an avid reader. I bought this book after seeing it mentioned on a blog (maybe white coat investor?). I read a lot of financial books and listen to a lot of dave Ramsey. Currently we are in the process of paying down massive debt. This book just reiterated all the concepts of building wealth and gave some good examples to keep the momentum going. I think it's a really good read for docs early in their careers to avoid some mistakes we made. However... there's something in it for everyone regardless of where you are on your journey.

I read this book in one sitting, but gained enough knowledge to feel I had been reading for days! A definite MUST read for any physician trying to turn the tide in his/her financial situation!

Funny, I am a professional programmer by trade and consider myself computer savvy. I have also posted videos to YouTube (garnering 30k+ views), but how people make money from there has always been a mystery to me. This book answered a lot of questions and made total sense.There are a few typo's and a lot of repeated content (even verbatim), but I wonder if that is intentional. After watching one of her video's where she was commenting on her itchy nose, it is clear to me that this is not a high end operation. But that is the genius here--she is down-to-earth, salty, and full of business acumen. Her book reflects that, and it shows how important it is to have passion and to be conversational. Impressive!I recommend this book if you need to understand the mechanics of running a grass roots channel on YouTube and how to generate revenue. I am glad I did--it got my wheels turning. This will be a go-to reference in the future.

I thought this book was well written and in a few places repeated the information for emphasis. One only learns when one reads or hears something several times. I thought it was interesting that she not only talked about how to make money with YouTube but how to connect YouTube to your social media sites.

I haven't even seen the inside of the book, yet I've been requested to rate it and I've also been bombarded with a collection of the author's other books. The horse and the applecart are out of sequence here.

This ebook is a solid five stars! The author presented the material in an easy to understand way. I now want to visit her channel.

I am a novice to this YouTube channel set up thing and Ann wrote a book that was perfect for someone like me. It did seem to include some unnecessary details about her business but it wasn't very often so I still give this book 5 stars and I will be looking at some of her other stuff.The best thing this book did was show how to get a channel started as a beginner and get adsense linked up to your account as well. I do also like that she emphasized frequently that a person should do this for fun as it is obviously going to be more work than I realized.

I thought the book was written well and easy to understand. Ann had a lot of good tips in setting up your channel and how to make money as well. This the first view for an e book I have ever done because most ebooks are kind of crappie. This book is well worth the money.

I like Ann's utilitarian and informational writing style. Would highly recommend.

This book has all you need to know in a very easy to read and understandable format. This book opened up possibilities for youtube marketing that I never knew about.
