Disappointing. This guide is really nothing more then a collection of small descriptions of locations, things to do, some (few) places to stay and eat, etc. There is very little in the way of detail. It offered nothing more (and in many cases less) then the official Nova Scotia tourism guide available free. Though the stated publication date is 2017, it's accuracy is suspect. For example, it references the "discontinued" ferry service between Maine and Yarmouth, NS. That service was seasonably resumed several years ago- what else is dated or wrong? There are few pictures. Generally an "OK" guide, nothing special.

Lonely Planet is one of my go-to guides when traveling and this didn't disappoint when spending a week on Prince Edward Island. I cut out the pages from the book and took them with us which became our bible for what to see and where to go.The descriptions are SO accurate of what is available to see and do all over the island. By following this guide we found hidden gems for meals - The Blue Winds Tea Room in Clinton/New London that we liked so much we went a second time. We also walked the Anne of Green Gables route according to the guide and against the direction most people walk it. Again, the guide was absolutely correct as the way you approach Green Gables from the bottom of the hill is delightful and much better than walking into it from a parking lot. The only downside was that it didn't seem as complete as it could be on the subject of lodging. The area is full of rental cottage communities and a perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. Not much information on those were listed and we used TripAdvisor to supplement our search.The island is a delight and the experience was only made better by using this guide. The purchase price was worth it just for this subset of information.

We're Rick Steves fans. We travel Europe annually and always use Steve's guidebooks. As Steve's doesn't cover North America we did some research into other offerings. We settled on the Lonely Planet edition. It just didn't cut it. It lacked meaningful information regarding geographical and historical/cultural sites. Didn't really give useful info regarding how to get from point A to point B. And what was written was in a style that was not interesting at all.Perhaps Lonely Planet guides are better than some, they certainly are not better than Steves.

We bought this for a trip to Nova Scotia. Was ok, but the Bradt Guide was better for Nova Scotia. We didn't visit New Brunswick or PEI on this trip, so I can't comment on those section. Overall, a useful & adequate guide to local attractions, events, hotels, and restaurants.

Good reference for the car and as an aid in preplanning a trip. I was a little disappointed in the maps, thought they would be larger fold out instead of printed on a single page.

We used this book white traveling. In fact, it is the book we relied on the most. We found the information accurate and adequate without going into excessive detail. The writers' style was a little off-the-cuff and humorous which we found delightful. The book was easy to read and access by having a cohesive plan and pattern. This would be the guide I would recommend first to others traveling in the area.

This is a good little travel book if planning or consideringmaking the trip to Nova Scotia area. Good info,pictures, routes to choose,lodging, travel itineraries.

Bought this to help plan my road trip around Nova Scotia. I wanted to see where to go, eat and stay. This is a great book to read and small enough to bring along with me and it wont take up space. It is very informative! I cant wait for my trip.

I've just bought and read it. Indeed, this is quite a practical and timely reference on Data Vault practices. It does not teach you how to model, but this is also not its promise. A word of advice: You must already know DV modeling and be acquainted with it, otherwise the book might sound impenetrable. All in all, go for it - cheap, reliable since it came from the methodology creator himself and quite complete (includes even real time loading practices.) This is not a five-star review because it doesn't have any ilustration and the diagramation could use some work.

Indeed, this is quite a practical and timely reference on Data Vault practices. It does not teach you how to model, it sets the original standards to definition of the data vault

This is a riveting story about the last judicial duel fought in 1386 by Jaques Le Gris and Jean de Carrouges. Â The author explains the difference between duels as we may have knowledge (those fought to maintain honor) and the judicial duel. He takes us through the lives of the two combatants and what led to the final outcome. The story plays out like a fast-paced cinema event instead of medieval history. Using primary sources that detail the trial and the combat and all the surrounding events, the author pulls together as best he can what happened. The 14th Century was not a good time in which to be born, particularly if you're a woman. Rape and abuse ran rampant. The Black Plague killed many people who may have survived the knights pillaging. Nonetheless a certain rule of law existed. This book details that rule of law and how it applied to this famous event.If you love history and you love adventure, this book is for you. I give it 5 stars without hesitation. By the way, it will not put you to sleep, and it's best not to know who the winner of the duel is until the combat ends. If you know ahead of time, it's less suspenseful. Read and enjoy.

Could not put it down. The author does a great job of painting a portrait of the main characters, establishing the historical era in which they lived, and building the plot in an entertaining and engaging way. He uses historical sources extensively - the book is well researched - and it's obvious how he thinks events played out. But - to his credit - he acknowledges that no one can ever be sure exactly what happened, and summarizes the alternative theories in the epilogue. Well written and informative - I would recommend this to non-history buffs as well.

That was quite a good book. Mr. Jager included several illustrations of documents that he had found and tapestries that showed the duel, I feel it's important to note that because illustrations don't come though well on a Kindle very often. I thought it was well researched, he went into different events that were examples of when a duel was fought in France at the time.Mr. Jager explained would happen to Marguerite in the event her husband Jean de Carrouges lost the duel. There is also a chapter at the end that explains why some of the claims made at a later date didn't hold up with the evidence that he uncovered in his research.I did enjoy this book and I may read it again.

True story from centuries ago. Absolutely gripping = the last duel to the death ever fought in France. Details are fascinating and many are preserved due to all participants were from nobility and one was favored to win by the king. Duel developed from brutal rape where wife told all to warrior husband who was away in battle. Trial lasted two years. All involved had to MOVE TO PARIS sos they could be on call for testimony at any time. Litigation never changes even when monks are not the scribes!

I read "The Last Duel" after I read his "Blood Royal" and I found both books astonishingly well written, well researched, and Jager's knowledge of the period--everything from the layout of Paris to feudal rituals to marriage alliances to daily life in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries--extraordinary. In both books he makes history come alive, posing a mystery at the beginning and slowly unraveling it. Along the way, he describes the entire landscape of medieval France and, indeed, medieval Europe and beyond (his description of the battle of Nicopolis, in which the French and their allies took on the Ottoman army with unfortunate results for the former is a wonderful example of how he situates the event on which the book focuses within the larger picture). Here's an example of how he writes: "Autumn brings cold, rainy weather to Normandy, and winter brings worse. The rain turns to snow and ice, making a muddy hash of the roads and plunging the land into a long winter freeze from which people seek shelter and one another's company around the hearth..." This is how all historians should write.

Eloquently written. Very interesting read. Jager captures the scenes masterfully and draws his readers in with his detailed accounts as if he'd witness the trial himself. Does not read like a boring historical non-fiction, at the same time, dutifully stays true to the actual events which occurred during the trial of the century. A must for anyone interested in European history or in the litigation processes of medieval Europe.

My actual chemistry textbook was not aligned with the AP curriculum exactly, and this book really makes everything short and sweet and has EVERYTHING you need to know. If I had known how useful it was, I would have bought it in the beginning of the year!! The practice questions after each section are PERFECT. If you can do them, you understand the material. Also, I just took the AP test this year and I can say that the short answers are VERY SIMILAR to what this book has. The multiple choice isn’t as good, but definitely study the short answer because some of the short answers in the book were almost the same if not harder than the actual AP Exam. When I finished the short answer section, on the AP Exam, I can happily say I knew how to do the redox titration and enthalpy one thanks to this amazing book. If you’re taking AP chem next year, buy Princeton review! (It’s betger than barons cause it gets to the point and makes everything easy, it also covers all the lab stuff you need to know)

I teach ap chem at a private school. I have been using the princeton review for three years. the students love it

It has helpful content but I was disappointed in all of the errors/misprints in the book, some that make the explanations seem very confusing. Could have been edited more thoroughly.

Still contains material that is no longer tested, but my students loved this resource and found the relevant information easy to study with explanations that made them feel confident they understood it.

No matter what, you need one of these to study for AP Exams successfully. This one does a pretty good job.

Good product, unfortunately the 2018 Edition does not appear to be updated or much different from the 2017 Edition.

Informative and well written. Five stars if I do well on the test.

My son found this very helpful and easy to use.
