As someone who has worked in pastels and oils, I recently decided to take up acrylic painting. With that said, I’d like to say that this book has been a Godsend to me. It has guided me seamlessly through the nuances associated with acrylic painting. I like how the author described how this differs from other types of paints. She also tells you about the different grades and all the required tools. My favorite part was the tips that she provided which were invaluable to me. I particularly liked how you described “Alla primaâ€, best used for spontaneous creativity, which describes me to a tee! Thanks so much for this helpful information!
In the art world acrylic painting is regarded as relatively new. Hannah explains how it gives artists the opportunity to create a complex piece with layers without taking a lot of time.She explains that it's flexibility is what has attracted artists such as David Hockney and Andy Warhol to acrylic painting.There are good sections on the tools that can be used (apart from brushes), as well as tips and techniques.Perhaps one of the main attractions of acrylic painting is that water can be used to dilute the paint,but on drying the piece is totally water resistant.
No pun intended (well maybe just a little), but this book paints the perfect picture of how to paint the perfect picture. Before reading this book, my paintings look like they were done by a first grader. The techniques suggested in this book helped me to find ways to advance my skills in painting, and enjoy the hobby more.
This book has a lot of good information for beginning painters (like me).It does not cover actually creating a painting, but gives some history and background information on tools and materials and a few techniques.More advanced artists probably already know this information, but I found it interesting and helpful.
Review of stuff that can be found online. Should be a bigger book with more guidance. Nothing new here. No wonder it's free.
I was sitting in my ninth grade art class the last time I did anything with acrylics. This was the perfect refresher course on brushes and techniques, maybe not for experienced painters but perfect for me. And thoroughly enjoyed the little bit of acrylic history.

Waste of money, incorrect information, nothing visual to backup. Reads like a high school essay. Get a better guide than this
